Cardross Holiday Cottages is the perfect place to get away from it all. Located in Arnprior in Scotland's Central region, the cottages offer free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a garden, free private parking and a stunning view of the Lake of Menteith. Our cottages, Ash and Hawthorn, were bigger than expected and comfortably furnished with clean beds. There's a washing machine and BBQ, plus a big fridge and freezer, great for storing food. Surrounding the cottages are plenty of biking and hiking paths, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The host is very responsive and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful, with farm life and impressive trees. There was even outdoor equipment for the children and a welcome basket. A perfect place for a relaxing break!

This 4-star hotel is situated on the shores of Loch Ard, just 6 miles from Ben Lomond and offers a peaceful location. Guests can enjoy a select wine and whisky menu, a spa and an on-site activity centre. Rooms are spacious and clean with partial views of the loch, and come with all the basic amenities. The hotel gardens are stunning for a relaxing evening walk and you can choose from a great selection of food and drinks at the restaurant. Breakfast is delicious with continental options and cooked breakfast. The staff are professional and polite, and the spa reception was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately, due to Covid, alcohol is only served in room service, which wasn't made clear before our stay. The coffee service was also disappointing. Overall, a lovely hotel with professional staff, but with some Covid-related restrictions.

Nearby attractions include the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel, and although the oil refinery is close by, guests can expect only the occasional whiff. With three-star service, the Inchyra is a pleasant stay, but may be worth waiting until they refurbish the bedrooms.
