Phil is very knowledgeable about the Lake District and provides helpful recommendations. There is plenty of onsite parking and many places to eat in walking distance. Covid-19 precautions are carefully followed, with rooms thoroughly cleaned and left to air, hand sanitiser provided and masks worn in the house. Phil and Helen put a lot of effort into making their guests feel welcome, making Hermiston Guest House an ideal choice for a Lake District break.

Amble House is the perfect spot for a stay in the Lake District. Located in Keswick, it's just 3km from Derwentwater and 17km from Buttermere, with free WiFi available. The B&B is only a 3-4 minute walk from the town centre and the market days (Thursdays and Saturdays) are a great chance to explore the shops and restaurants. The room is a nice size and offers plenty of tea and coffee, plus a TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Freeview. There's also delicious homemade vegan chocolate biscuits in the room. The breakfast is full of choice with cereals, fruit, toast, pancakes and vegan and vegetarian options. Plus, the hosts Jacqui and Graham are lovely, friendly and accommodating people who make sure you feel welcome and valued. Vicky and Alan, and my partner and I have both stayed at Amble House and highly recommend it for a wonderful Lake District stay.

Our host Lesley was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from booking an evening meal to providing a delicious, very generous packed lunch. Breakfast was fabulous and packed lunch service available with generous amounts provided. We highly recommend this B&B for a peaceful holiday away with lots of great things to do, nearby beach and all the necessary amenities catered for.

Paul and Carol, our hosts, are friendly and helpful with directions to the best walks and restaurants. The location is ideal, just a few minutes walking to the town centre. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Our room had a mountain view, complimentary chocolates and biscuits provided daily, tea/coffee making facilities and was spotless. We thoroughly recommend Babbling Brook Guesthouse and will definitely be returning.

It's the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Lake District and the North Lakes, only 2 miles from Cockermouth. The apartment is spacious, with a fully-equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV, and luxurious, crisp linen and pillows on the comfortable bed. The owner, Vanessa, is very welcoming and provides home-baked goodies such as gluten-free cakes. There's plenty to do nearby, from the 400 year old Kirkstyle Inn & Hotel, to Bassenthwaite Lake Station Cafe, to the lovely walks direct from the doorstep. Off road parking is provided and the pub across the road serves good food. Dovenby Apartment is the ideal place to escape and explore the area.
