The historic Henderson Castle is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a unique, luxurious experience. Located within walking distance of Kalamazoo College and 5 minutes away from Western Michigan University, this 125-year old castle offers on-site spa services, airport transfers, and a hot breakfast every morning. Some of the staff, like Alexander and Sydney, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Unfortunately, management was disorganized and the atmosphere of the 3rd floor room was disappointing. There were items missing from the menu, the house wine was overpriced and subpar, and the blanket in the room had a strange smell. There was also an extra fee that wasn't disclosed until after arrival. Despite the problems, Henderson Castle is still a beautiful, historic place worth visiting. Just make sure you come prepared with rain boots!
