DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park is conveniently located within 15 minutes of the Peak District National Park, Sheffield City Centre and Chesterfield. All rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and come equipped with a 37-inch flat-screen TV, refrigerator, tea and coffee facilities, and hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi, free parking, and a leisure club and spa are also available. Unfortunately, I heard several complaints of unsatisfactory service throughout my stay. Charging facilities were not operational, washbasins were blocked, and there were several other issues with the room, breakfast and spa. However, I was assured that steps were being taken to rectify these issues.

Kenwood Hall offers luxury 4-star accommodation in 12 acres of stunning grounds just a mile from Sheffield city centre. The hotel boasts a well-equipped leisure club including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and gym, plus free on-site parking. Unfortunately, our stay here was far from luxurious. The spa was basic, the pool area was cold, and the room had seen better days with broken and worn-down fixtures and fittings. On top of that, the hallway alarm went off twice during the night and the breakfast buffet was filled with unnecessary plastics. Sadly, this hotel is not worth the money, and I cannot recommend it.

Built around a former 17th-century residence, it still retains much of its original character with oak beams and stunning architecture. After a day of sightseeing, relax in the lounge or enjoy a meal in the restaurant. Unfortunately, recent reviews have noted that it doesn't quite live up to its 4-star rating, with outdated furniture, scratched fixtures and fittings, and limited dining options. However, some guests have noted that the continental breakfast selection is good and the staff are generally polite and friendly. Despite some of its shortcomings, the hotel is still a great place to stay for those wanting to explore the area.

Located just off the M18 motorway, the hotel offers comfortable double rooms with radiators for climate control and a bar menu for room service. The restaurant serves high quality dishes in generous portions and there is plenty of parking available. The pool, sauna and steam room are a real treat and the spa is popular, although often booked up in advance. The staff are friendly and helpful, but there are some gaps in service. Overall, Hellaby Hall is a pleasant hotel with great leisure facilities, but is more suited to those looking for a three-star experience.

Enjoy a stay in Barnsley, just 15km from Belle Vue, and relax in the garden, shared lounge and restaurant. Take advantage of the bar and gym, and enjoy a meal at the on-site pub. All rooms are clean and comfortable, with adequate lighting and free access to the leisure centre. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the Sunday roast at the pub restaurant is a must-try. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 there is no room service and a £20 swimming fee applies at weekends.
