Embleton Spa Hotel is an 18th-century family-run hotel offering en-suite rooms and apartments, as well as its own swimming pool, steam room and gym. Our stay of two nights in May 2022 was enjoyable and the staff and food were fantastic. However, we were disappointed that the spa facilities weren't as expected from the website description. The pool and hot tub were not always accessible and the showers were communal. Our room was comfortable but the mattress had a spring sticking out and the ensuite was a 'long cupboard'. We were also lied to by the receptionist about the availability of the pool for our children on our last day. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay that was improved by the staff and their wonderful chef. Embleton is a great place to stay for families with dogs, as they are most welcome.
