The Gables is a charming Victorian villa, once a vicarage, set in 2 acres of gardens outside Duddo and surrounded by the Cheviot Hills. Our stay here was an absolute delight! Our room was large and airy with a vintage bed from an Italian castle, and antique furniture. The bathroom was modern and spacious, with both bath and shower. Angus, the host, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and provided a freshly cooked breakfast in the spacious Victorian dining room. We were also able to use the large and beautifully furnished lounge, as well as explore the beautiful gardens. A stay at The Gables is a total joy, with its unique charm, comfortable accommodation and attentive host. Highly recommended!

Norham Bike Yard is a great base to explore the Northumbrian coast and Scottish Borders. Our hosts were really friendly, helpful and provided great local knowledge. The rooms are immaculate, with a cycling theme, ensuite and access to a guest lounge with a TV and reading materials. We enjoyed a continental breakfast with generous portions of locally sourced produce, and relaxed in the beautiful garden. There's a pub, butchers, bakers and a small 'corner' shop in Norham, and the Masons Arms serves good pub grub. There's also riverside walks and a ruined castle connected to Turner's landscape paintings. Secure garages and drying rooms are available for bikes and equipment. We had a great stay and would recommend Norham Bike Yard to both cyclists and non-cyclists alike.
