It's a great base for exploring the area, with the castle and jail museum in Inveraray, and being 70 minutes from Oban for boat trips. Thistle House Guest House is a spacious Victorian country house situated in a scenic wooded garden overlooking Loch Fyne to Inveraray and its famous castle. Free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking are provided. Our friendly welcome on arrival was the perfect start to a comfortable stay, with evening meals booked on our behalf and coffee and cake provided in the spacious guest lounge. Our room was the “MacNaughton” – a double on the first floor with a view out over the loch. There was a small wardrobe and bedside cabinets for storage. The bathroom ensuite seemed to have been recently refurbished and was perfectly functional. Breakfast was pre-ordered the evening before from a very good selection, with the food being of excellent quality and nicely cooked. Our hosts and the guesthouse provided an enjoyable break in comfortable surroundings. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing stay or a base to explore the area, Thistle House Guest House is an excellent choice.
